Fun with Perl!
So, here I am putting off writing my five page paper due tomorrow yet again.
Over the weekend, Dylan gave me a short introduction and some help with the Perl scripting language. After filling in the blanks, I find myself _much_ more capable in Perl than I have been with C++! Documentation is amazing, and it’s drop-dead simple and logical once you get over the awkward syntax and weird characters. I’ve already produced several scripts (often with Dylan’s or irc.freenode.net/#perl’s help) and a few IRC bots.
Although nowhere near complete, you can (kinda) talk to BotPossum who exists on AIM, Yahoo, MSN, and Jabber/GTalk, but he is only functional on AIM and Yahoo right now. There are also some bots on my IRC channel — Please feel free to ask me for the channel if you’re interested.
