Google Suggest
I hope everyone else had a tokin’ April 20th. I ended up going to see SPC’s band play as part of a Humanities assignment. But it was all fun. So, if you remember my last post, I found something amusing on with Google’s advertising. This time, I found something even better (this appears to be undocumented, so Digg it!)
For those unaware, xkcd is a well-known and excellent webcomic. One of the most famous entries is the Cat Proximity (or “Kitty”) strip. For whatever reason, Google Suggest believes that “xkcd” is a misspelling of “sjcd” and “corrects” it for you. If you notice, it even “corrects” the search term for “sjcd kitty” which is definitely NOT the same query as “xkcd kitty.”
Anyway, just thought this was worth documenting. I’m sure there’s a wealth of other false typos in the system. Happy hunting! ![]()

It doesn’t do anything when I type “xkcd.” Maybe, it’s just you?
