Upgraded WordPress

As you may or may not know, WordPress is my blogging software (which I think may be the reason I was exploited). Anyway, I just upgraded to version 2.0.5, the latest version, in hopes it will add an extra layer of security.

A couple days ago I noticed I had an unusual amount of traffic to my site from a number of IP addresses beginning with 222. I checked my logs and found out they had installed a backdoor into my Dreamhost user account, which was the web application called C99Shell.

I just thought this was pretty spiffy. Go to Google and type “possumism” and do an “I’m Feeling Lucky” search (Note that Mozilla Firefox and Debian Iceweasel users should be able to just type it into their URL bar) and see where it goes!
